Cocoon’s team is comprised of four Mechanical Engineering undergraduate students in their senior year at UC Berkeley. These students have expertise in the fundamentals of engineering, and have previously specialized in projects concerning electromechanical controls systems, aerodynamic systems, and graphical programming. Additionally, they have done extensive work in user experience design, working on human-centered projects similar to Cocoon.

RUBY GUZALOWSKIHey there! I am currently a senior undergraduate student at UC Berkeley working towards a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Some of my favorite classes have been Static and Dynamic Mechanics or any class focused on building and breaking things! My role on the Cocoon team is focused on creating and testing the control system, as well as designing the SolidWorks model. Some of my hobbies include training with the Cal Boxing Club, finding new taquerias, and watching scary movies with my friends! One of my favorites is the original Nightmare on Elm Street.
VARNA VASUDEVANHello! I am a senior at UC Berkeley pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a passion for human-centered design. I consider myself a user experience researcher and designer with experience in qualitative research, industrial design, interaction design, and product design. I also love working in the makerspace - everything from laser cutting and 3D printing, to tinkering with Arduinos and sensors! My main role in Cocoon was with 3D rendering, prototyping, and electronics. In my free time, you can also catch me hip-hop dancing, trying chai lattes at new cafes, making outrageous puns, and eating many bowls of mac n' cheese!
